Lynn McFee
FOUNDER OF MCFEE ON MAIN
I've had retail in my blood since the fifth grade. At that tender age, I worked in my aunt and uncle’s clothing store in Sheldon, Iowa when my family visited from our Minneapolis-area home.
After a three-decade career with Ralph Lauren, I decided to open my own shop in downtown Mount Horeb – long a mecca for southern Wisconsin shoppers looking for unique stores and restaurants.

The Story Behind
the Building
HISTORICAL PIECE OF TOWN
The frame-gabled house that is now home to McFee on Main was originally constructed for dentist Dr. Clarence Gleason in 1893. This was Dr. Geason’s home until at least 1911 and remained in his family until at least 1915. It was later the home of John and Augusta Kahl until around 1950. After that, Anton Bergum owned the property, which was part of his estate until at least 1970. It was then owned by Richard F. Brahmer and Gwendolyn M. Cassis, who sold it to John and Lynn McFee in May 2015.
